Your dealer has assessed the problem correctly - there was a series of posts about this last spring.
You can search back and find the postings - seems to me I remember something about getting vicious with the seal - putting gasket goop around the plug or something like that
Changing the plug will stop the problem but it may come back - the oil spreads down the cylinder on the right hand side of the engine ( rider seated position) and then the wind spreads it back onto the toolkit/ battery box area.
Nothing to panic about but it does need attention and is part of the reason for the constant theme here of CHECK the OIL LEVEL
